Step 2- Application Form:
Canadian Citizens can get the Passport Application form in 3 ways
- Applicant can apply online by visiting the official website
- Applicant can download the application form by visiting the official website
- Applicant can get the application form any nearest Passport office

Note:
- If the applicant is in hurry it’s better to apply Passport at the nearest Passport office, because the applicants who apply their passport in person at the Passport office they can get the Passport within 10 working days.
- Applicants who are having time they can apply online & send the application form by mail.
Process for Filling the Application Form online:
Step 1: Visit the Official Passport website
Step 2: Check your eligibility
Step 3: After confirming the eligibility, fill the complete application form with correct details & take the print of the filled application form
Step 4: Attach 2 most recent & identical photographs
Step 5: Attach the required documents
Step 6: Find a guarantor to attest your one photo & your Passport Application form
Step 7: Find 2 References & mention their contacts in your Passport application form
Step 8: Pay the prescribed fees (fees can be paid by Credit card/Debit card/Certified Cheque/Money order)
Step8: Lodge you application form personally at your nearest Passport Office or send it by mail

Step2: Take a Application form
Step3: Fill the complete application form with correct details

Step 3- Required Documents:
Canadian Citizens who are applying for Passport must submit the following original Certificates
- Completely filled Passport Application form
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship (Original)
- Citizenship Certificate
- Identification Proof
- 2 Identical & Most recent Photos
Note: Applicants who are applying for Passport can show the following certificates for proof of Canadian Citizenship
Canadian Citizens who are born in Canada they must provide
- Birth Certificate( Short/Long)
- Citizenship certificate issued by IRCC
Canadian Citizens born outside Canada must submit the following certificates
- Citizenship Certificate
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Certification of Registration of Birth Overseas
Note:
- All the above required documents to be submitted with the Passport application form must be either in English/French.
- If any of the Certificates are in other language, applicant must convert the Certificate into English/French

Step 4-Passport size Photos & Photo requirements:
Applicants Photo is more important for security reasons & if the applicant’s photo does not reach the requirements prescribed by the Canadian Passport office, application may not be forwarded. Canadian Citizens while applying Passport they must submit 2 identical & most recent Photos which meets the following requirements.
- Photos width 50 mm & height 70 mm
- Photos should be identical & less than six months old
- Photos should be with good quality & colour gloss prints
- Photos should be clear, sharp & in focus
Note:
Applicants must write the date on which the photo has taken & complete address of the Photographer on one of the photos.

Step 5- Guarantor:
- Guarantor can be Family member or any Individual living at the applicants address.
- Guarantor must fill the Guarantor section & Sign the Declaration of Guarantor section of applicants Passport application form
- Guarantor should write the following sentence on back side of one photo of applicant that I certify that True likeness (of the applicant’s full name)
- Guarantor may get the call from the Passport office so Guarantor must be accessible to the Passport office for verification
Eligibility for Guarantor (for the applicant’s who are applying in Canada):
- Guarantor must be a Canadian Citizen & should be 18 years of age or above
- Guarantor must be a valid Canadian Passport holder
- Guarantor’s Passport validity must be at least 2 years
- Guarantor must know the Passport applicant at least from 2 years

Eligibility for Guarantor (for the applicant’s who are applying outside Canada):
- Guarantor must be a Canadian Citizen & should be 18 years of age or above

- Guarantor must know the Passport applicant at least from 2 years

Step 6- References:
Canadian Citizens who are applying for Passport must give 2 references
Eligibility for a Reference:
- Reference must be a Canadian Citizen
- Reference age must be 18 years or above
- Reference must agree to use their name & contact in the Passport Application form
- Reference must know the Passport applicant at least from 2 years
- Reference must not be a Family member
- Reference must not be a Guarantor
Step 7- Passport Fees & Mode of Payment:
Passport Fees:
- Passport (10 years validity) – $120
- Passport (5 years validity) – $160

Step 8- Lodging the Application Form:
Applicants after completing all the above formalities, Passport application form can be submitted personally at their nearest passport office or the Applicants who are applying online they can send the application form by mail.

Step 9- Collecting your Passport:
After the successful submission of your passport application form along with photos & required documents
- Applicants who applied their passport in person they can get the Passport in person within 10 working days.
- Applicants who applied their passport by mail they can get the Passport by mail after 20 working days.
