Step 2- Application Form:
Citizens of Australia can get the Passport Application form in 2 ways
- Applicant can apply online by visiting the official website
- Applicant can get the application form any nearest Passport office
- Applicants applying for Australian Child Passport from overseas can get the application form from any nearest Australian Diplomatic Mission or Consulate
Process for Filling the Application Form online:
Step 1: Visit the Official Passport website
Step 2: Check your eligibility
Step 3: After confirming the eligibility, fill the complete application form with correct details & take the print of the filled application form
Step 4: Attach 2 most recent & identical photographs
Step 5: Section 11 & one of the photos must be attested by a guarantor
Step 6: Attach the required documents & Parental Consent
Step 7: Pay the prescribed fees (fees can be paid by Credit card/Debit card/EFTPOS)
Step 8: Lodge you application form personally along with your parents at your nearest Passport Office. (Applicants applying from overseas can submit the application form along with their parents at the nearest Australian Diplomatic Mission or Consulate.

Step 2: Take a Application form
Step 3: Fill the complete application form with correct details

Citizens of Australia who are applying for Child Passport must submit the following original Certificates

Step 4-Passport size Photos & Photo requirements:
Applicants Photo is more important for security reasons & if the applicant’s photo does not reach the requirements prescribed by the Australian Passport office, application may not be forwarded. Citizens of Australia while applying Passport they must submit 2 identical & most recent Photos which meets the following requirements.
- Photos width 35 mm- 40mm & height 45 mm- 50 mm
- Photos should be identical & less than six months old
- Photos should be with good quality & colour gloss prints

Step 5- Parental Consent:
Applicants who are under 18 years of age & applying for Australian Passport should submit the Parental Consent (in written) along with your Passport application form. Parental Consent must be given by both the Parents of the applicant.
- If the Applicant’s one of the Parent is not alive then one Parent should give the consent, applicant must produce the evidence.
- If the Applicant is not with the Parents then the Legal Guardian must give the Consent

Step 6- Guarantor:
Guarantor is an individual who must be a citizen of Australia & a valid Passport holder, who helps the Australian Passport Office in recognizing the Passport applicant.
Guarantor is a person who must attest the applicant’s Passport application form, helps the Passport applicant in identifying & simultaneously helps the Australian Passport office in recognizing the Passport applicant.
Eligibility for Guarantor:
- Guarantor must be a Citizen of Australia & should be 18 years of age or above
- Guarantor must be a valid Australian Passport holder
- Guarantor’s Passport validity must be at least 2 years
- Guarantor‘s name must be in the Australian Electoral roll
- Guarantor must stay for at least 1 year at the address mentioned in the Australian Electoral roll
- Guarantor must not be a relative to the Passport applicant by birth or Marriage
- Guarantor must not live at the Passport applicant’s address & Guarantor should not have any other relationship with the Passport applicant.
- Guarantor must know the Passport applicant from at least one year
Role of Guarantor:
- Guarantor must fill the Section 11 of the Passport application form of the applicants who are applying Australian Passport first time
- Guarantor must attest the Applicant’s Passport application form
- Guarantor must attest one of the photos of the applicant at the back side & must mention that this is a TRUE COPY of the applicant
- Guarantor must give his working phone number; Guarantor may get a call from the Australian passport office for the confirmation
Step 7- Passport Fees & Mode of Payment:
Passport Fees:
- Passport for children below 16 years (5 years validity) – $127
- Passport for children of age 16 or 17 years (10 years validity) – $254
Passport fees can be paid by Credit card or Debit Card/ by EFTPOS

Step 8- Check list for Lodging Passport Application Form:
- Completely filled Passport application form
- Original documents required for applying passport
- 2 Identical & most recent passport size photos one of them must be attested by a guarantor
Step 9- Lodging the Application Form:
Applicants after completing all the above formalities, Passport application form can be submitted personally at their nearest passport office.
Note:
- Applicants who are applying for passport must submit their application form in person along with their parents
- Applicants who are applying for Australian passport from overseas must submit their application form in person along with their Parents at the nearest Australian Consulate or Australian diplomatic mission.

Step 11- Collecting your Passport:
