Who can get a Dutch passport renewed?
- The citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands are allowed to renew their Dutch passports
- A person who is 18 years or more than that has to renew her / his passport in the adults passports category
- However, when the applicant is under 18 years, then the applicant has to select the children’s category
- It is also necessary for the applicant to hold a current passport or the recently issued Dutch passport
List of documents required to get an adult Dutch passport renewed:
- Dutch passport
- Filled in passport renewal application form
- Birth certificate
- Dutch nationality proof / Dutch identity card
- Marriage certificate applicable to a few people
- 1 colour photograph
Documents required to get a child Dutch passport renewed:
- Dutch passport
- Birth certificate
- Dutch passport renewal application form has to be filled
- Dutch nationality proof or the Dutch identity card
- Parent’s marriage certificate & nationality proof
- Parental consent
- 1 colour photograph
Procedure to get a Dutch passport renewed:
- Go to the Municipality office to get the passport renewal application form
- Fill in all the required details
- Next enclose above mentioned documents depending as to who is the applicant
- Submit the documents & application form at the Municipality office in person
- Next pay the fee in cash / through debit or a credit card
- Applicant will get an acknowledgement (this will have a passport application number) at the time the renewal application form has been successfully submitted
- Schedule an appointment with the help of the passport application number
- Applicants will be required to provide bio – metric details which are nothing but photograph / finger prints / signature
Processing time:
One has to wait for about 5 working days to get their Dutch passport renewed only when the documents have been submitted in the correct order.
Validity of a renewed Dutch passport:
The 2nd Dutch passport is issued only to the people who travel often. And this passport is valid for 2 years that is from the date of issue.
Fee to get a Dutch passport renewed:
- Fee for renewing an adult passport that is when the applicant is 18 years or 18 years plus, is € 99
- € 85. 50 is the fee to renew child passport where the age of the applicant is less than 18 years
