Step 2- Application Form:
British Nationals can get the Passport Application form in 2 ways
- Applicant can apply online by visiting the official website
- Applicant can get the application form any nearest Post office

Process for Filling the Application Form online:
Step1: Visit the Official Passport website
Step2: Check your eligibility
Step3: After confirming the eligibility, fill the complete application form with correct details & take the print of the filled application form
Step4: Attach 2 most recent & identical photographs
Step5: Passport application form & one of the photos of the applicant must be attested by a Counter Signatory
Step6: Attach the required documents
Step7: Pay the prescribed fees (fees can be paid by Credit card/Debit card)
Step8: You can submit your application form in person or you can sent it by post
Note:
- For using this facility applicant must have either Debit Card/ Credit Card
- Applicants who are applying the Passport online cannot use the check & send service

Step 2: Take a Passport Application form
Step 3: Fill the complete application form with correct details
Step 4: Attach 2 most recent & identical photographs
Step 5: Passport application form & one of the photos must be attested by a Counter Signatory
Step 6: Attach the required documents
Step 7: Pay the prescribed fees (fees can be paid by Cash/Credit card/Debit card/Postal Order)

Step 3- Required Documents:
British Nationals who are applying for Passport must submit the following original Certificates
- Completely filled Passport Application form
- Applicants Birth Certificate
- Applicants Father’s Birth Certificate
- Parents Marriage Certificate

Step 4-Passport size Photos & Photo requirements:
British Nationals who are applying for Passport must provide 2 identical & most recent photos which are in standard size (used in UK). Applicants Photo is more important for security reasons & if the applicant’s photo does not reach the requirements prescribed by the British Passport office, application may not be forwarded. Applicant’s photos must meet the following requirements.
- Photos width 35 mm & height 45 mm
- Photos should be identical & less than a month old
- Photos should be clear & in focus

Step 5- Counter Signatory:
- Counter Signatory must be a British National & must be a valid Passport holder, who helps the British Passport Office in recognizing the Passport applicant.
- Counter Signatory is a person who must attest the applicant’s Passport application form, helps the Passport applicant in identifying & simultaneously helps the British Passport office in recognizing the Passport applicant.
- Counter Signatory must verify the applicant’s application form, write his Passport number & sign it.
- Counter Signatory should write the following sentence on back side of one photo of applicant that I certify that True likeness (of the applicant’s full name)

Eligibility for Counter Signatory:
- Counter Signatory must be a Citizen of British & should be good standing in their community
- Counter Signatory must be a valid British or Irish Passport holder
- Counter Signatory must live in UK
- Counter Signatory must not be a relative to the Passport applicant by birth or Marriage
- Counter Signatory must not live at the Passport applicant’s address
- Counter Signatory should not have any other relationship with the Passport applicant.
- Counter Signatory must know the Passport applicant from at least 2 years
Step 6- Passport Fees & Mode of Payment:
Passport Fees:
- Standard 32 Page Passport – £72.50 (without Passport Check and Send Service)
- Standard 32 Page Passport – £82.25 (with Passport Check and Send Service)
- Passport 48 Page Passport – £85.50 (without Passport Check and Send Service)
- Passport 48 Page Passport – £95.25 (with Passport Check and Send Service)
Passport fees can be paid by Credit card or Debit Card or Cash or Postal Order

Step 7- Check list for Lodging Passport Application Form:
- Completely filled Passport application form
- Original documents required for applying passport
- 2 Identical & most recent passport size photos one of them must be attested by a Counter Signatory
Step 8- Lodging the Application Form:
Applicants after completing all the above formalities can submit their Passport application online or by post.
Step 9 – Booking an Appointment for Interview:
After the successful submission of your passport application form you will get a letter from the HM post office to book an appointment. Applicant can confirm the appointment by phone
Step 10 – Passport Interview:
On the day of your interview you will be asked about your personal information. If the information given by you matches with the information filled in the application form then your application form will be processed. Interview duration will be about 30 minutes.

Step 12- Collecting your Passport:
After the successful submission of your passport application form along with photos & required documents you will get your passport by registered post for the address you mentioned in the application form within 6 weeks
