Who is eligible to apply for a Bolivian passport?

  1. To apply for a Bolivian passport, the applicant has to be a citizen of Bolivia
  2. Secondly, the citizen has to be under 18 years of age to apply for a child passport
  3. Thirdly, if the citizen is 18 years or above then the citizen has to apply for an adult Bolivian passport

The applicants can get a Bolivian passport at either the Dirección General de Migración or General Office of Migration when they are in Bolivia or head to a Bolivian consulate when they are away from their home land.

List of documents required for an adult Bolivian passport:

  1. Birth certificate
  2. Identity card
  3. Marriage certificate (applicable only to a few applicants)
  4. Fee receipt

List of documents required for a child Bolivian passport:

  1. Birth certificate
  2. Bolivian identity card
  3. Parent’s identity card
  4. Parent’s marriage certificate
  5. Parental consent
  6. Fee receipt

Procedure to apply for a Bolivian passport:

  1. First of all, if you are willing to apply for a Bolivian passport, you will have to go to the passport office’s official website
  2. Next step would be to collect the passport application form
  3. Fill the form completely & the applicant has to be sure of the fact that there are no mistakes in the application form
  4. Once the form is filled & the documents are put in place, you will have to pay the fee
  5. The applicant may either make use of a debit or a credit card to pay the passport fee or the processing fee to get the passport issued
  6. You must then submit not only the passport application form but also the documents to the passport office
  7. One should not forget to take the fee receipt along with the form & the documents when they go to the passport office
  8. When you go to the passport office, you would also be required to provide the bio – metric details
  9. Finger prints / signature & the photograph form a part of the bio – metric data

Bolivian passport application processing time:

The applicants will have to wait for about 2 to 3 working days to get a Bolivian passport issued. However, the time taken to have the passport issued would purely depend on the documents submitted & whether the passport application form has been filled correctly.

The applicants will also have to remember that they would not only have to apply but also collect their passport in – person (when the passport is issued) from the passport office.
